Zoysia and Valves

After one week at the Heart of America Golf course we have already started to make progress.  All the zoysia fairways were sprayed with Glyphosate and Prodiamine.  Glyphosate is a post-emergent herbicide that will kill any turf/weed that is green.  The target for this application was annual bluegrass and clover, because the zoysia is dormant, glyphosate will not harm it.  Prodiamine is a pre-emergent herbicide that will prevent other weeds from establishment.  In the top photo you can see a blue tint to the zoysia and that is the turf marker that we use so we can see where we sprayed.  The bottom photo is a drain valve on number 1 that we replaced. Week 2 we will finish spraying Glyphosate and Prodiamine on Tees and Perimeters of Fairways and also Approaches.  We will also continue to fix irrigation breaks and trim some trees.
